Harpa Concert House

Sónar Reykjavík takes place at one of Europe's most unique concert venues: Harpa. Situated by the harbour in downtown Reykjavik, the venue is in the midst of the city's heartbeat - in walking distance from its prominent hotels, museums, bars and restaurants.


The festival takes place at 4 different stages, all located indoors within the walls of the Harpa Concert House:

  • Silfuberg: SonarClub
  • Norðurljós: SonarHall presented by Red Bull Music
  • Kaldalón: SonarComplex presented by Origo
  • The underground car-park: SonarLab by Resident Advisor

The Harpa Concert House is designed by Olafur Eliasson, Henning Larsen Architects and Batteríið Architects - and has won multiple awards for architecture including Mies van der Rohe in 2013 and World Architecture Award 2010. Harpa is the home of the Iceland Symphony Orchestra and the Icelandic Opera.
