We proudly present the first confirmed artists for the Sónar Reykjavík 2017 festival program, taking place across four stages of one of Europe's most unique concert venues, Harpa Concert Hall in downtown Reykjavik, February 16-18. Following his epic show at Sónar Barcelona this summer Fatboy Slim will be headlining the festival's closing night at the SonarClub stage. Other international headline acts announced are electronic live show maestros Moderat and hip hop legends De La Soul, both presenting their recent albums, who will be joined by Ben Klock, Forest Swords, Tommy Genesis, Helena Hauff and BBC radio host presenter & B.Traits and more to be confirmed.
From the vibrant local scene, Sónar Reykjavik will stage three leading talents from the Iceland's mounting hip-hop scene Emmsjé Gauti, Aron Can and Kött Grá Pje, acclaimed electro-indie-pop band FM Belfast, Samaris, Sin Fang, Glowie, Øfjord and sxsxsx.
Red Bull Music Academy returns to Sónar Reykjavík for the third consecutive year, showcasing a hand-picked selection of trailblazing talent, many of them alumni of previous Academy editions. The Academy has maintained a long-running partnership with Sónar for over a decade. By bringing its curatorial expertise to the Icelandic edition of Sónar, the Academy gives credit to the thriving local music scene and the festival itself. The four stages of Sónar Reykjavík are SonarClub, SonarHall, the seated SonarComplex and Harpa's undeground car-park converted into the SonarLab night-club.
